Wright Investments return as Rovers shorts sponsor

Doncaster Rovers are delighted to welcome back familiar branding to the first team kit as Wright Investments has agreed to become the new shorts sponsor.

The Doncaster-based property developer and investment firm was the shirt sponsor for Rovers between 2007 and 2010, with their logo featuring prominently during the iconic play-off final win over Leeds United at Wembley which secured promotion to the Championship.

Wright Investments will be back on Rovers kit from this weekend as shorts sponsor after agreeing to become the latest member of the 100Club Partnership.

Wright Investments owner Colin Wright said: “I have thought about this for a while. We had an exceedingly good time in the previous sponsorship period when the club did incredibly well, particularly with that day at Wembley.

“Over the years people have thanked me for sponsoring the club and said how proud they were of the support at such a special time.

“As a company, we’re working on lots of brilliant projects at the moment so the time felt right for us to come back as a kit sponsor. I’m extremely pleased to be back on board.

Club Doncaster chief commercial officer Jon Warburton said: “As soon as we heard Colin wanted to support us again, we were really keen to make that happen.

“When you talk to Colin, he speaks so glowingly about the club and very affectionately about the time he sponsored us previously.

“Financial support is massive and we appreciate it so much, however, in Colin you also have someone who wants to support in a whole manner of different ways. He is an advocate of Doncaster who is always positive about the work the club is doing which is equally as important as the financial contribution of a partner.”

The Wright Investments logo will appear on Rovers’ shorts, commencing with Saturday’s clash with Leyton Orient at the Eco-Power Stadium.

Head of football operations James Coppinger was part of the team who won the 2008 Championship Wembley final with the Wright Investments logo across his midriff and is delighted to see the company renew its support.

He said: “Talking to Colin, it was good to reminisce about some great times at the club.

“It’s great to have them back as a sponsor. We know how important the partners are and how important sponsorship is to the club. It’s brilliant to have them back on board.”
